NEMRUT FOLKGROUP
The traditional dance group Nemrut was founded in Mechelen and consists only of dancers of Armenian descent. The group, named after Mount Nemrut, aims to spread Armenian cultural values and traditions in Belgium. Their ethnographic dances and songs are inspired by military and ceremonial ceremonies. Armenian dances are characterised by waving a handkerchief up and down to determine step speed. This edition, the Armenian folk group will give a guest performance at the World Festival in Izegem!
